Activities in Montrose

Montrose has a long sandy beach and picturesque harbour for those who love the sea and walking.  A summer sunset over the sand dunes is hard to beat.

For culture, we hold regular music concerts at the hotel and Montrose can boast the William Lamb Studio - sculptor of the royals.  Glamis Castle near Forfar, family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne, is also worth a visit.  For art lovers, we are the main sponsors of some of the art exhibitions in the town and also exhibit work on the walls of the hotel.

Golfers are spoiled for choice around Montrose.  The jewel in the crown is British Open venue, Carnoustie Links but there are great courses at Montrose, Monifieth, Letham Grange (near Arbroath), Forfar, Kirriemuir, Downfield (Dundee) and many others nearby.

For those that need a little shopping retail therapy, there are local shops in Montrose and the nearby towns, and Dundee has the major city stores.
